| | | | Newsarticle 2010-07-08 | | | | | | Vic Prins appointed Director of Business Development at DHV Group | | | | | | The DHV Group, a global provider of consultancy and engineering services, appointed Dr. Vic Prins (b. 1952) as Director of Business Development. He reports directly to the Executive Board and is a member of the Group’s Executive Council.
Dr. Prins’ appointment will strengthen international collaboration within the DHV Group. As a board member of several foreign DHV subsidiaries, and former manager of significant parts of the DHV business, he will promote targeted cooperation between Group companies and ensure a shorter time-to-market for Group-wide products.
In this respect, Dr. Prins becomes responsible for the Group’s innovation agenda, including research and development, with a particular focus on transportation and water. He will also coordinate all strategic partnerships and alliances at the Group level and direct all business processes related to the Group’s M&A activities (mergers and acquisitions).
Dr. Prins was Director of DHV’s Environment and Transportation business group from June 2006 until July 2010, a position which enabled him to gain an intimate knowledge of the DHV business in the Netherlands. Before this, Dr. Prins was Director and CEO of Stewart Scott International (SSI), DHV’s South African subsidiary.
Vic Prins was born in South Africa and played a key role in developing and implementing transportation and aviation policy in the region, including the privatization of state-owned companies and services. After being educated and working as a civil engineering, he developed a keen interest in transportation policy and economics, a subject in which he obtained a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston in 1982.
The DHV Group is an international provider of consulting and engineering services in the areas of transportation (including airports); water; building & industry; spatial planning & environment. We meet our clients’ needs by operating on the principle of Local delivery of world-class solutions: the Group’s leading expertise is made available to clients through an integrated network of offices in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. Our network of businesses and alliances is driven by our shared mission, values, and projects, all directed at creating innovative concepts and solutions for the sustainable development of our living environment. The DHV Group has a staff of 5,500 and its net turnover in 2009 was € 481 million. For further information please visit www.dhvgroup.com.
